Criteria 7.3: Institutional Distinctiveness
Our institutional distinctiveness lies in our commitment to nurturing the local student population, the majority of whom are Marathi-speaking and fluent in Marathi compared to English. Recognizing this unique demographic, we have implemented inclusive practices to bridge the linguistic gap and ensure equal opportunities for all students, aligning with the multilingual policies of Mumbai University, which permits students to write exams in Marathi.
To support this, we have:
- Bilingual Competitions: Conduct Intra-College Moot Court, Elocution, and Debate Competitions in both English and Marathi, allowing students to participate and be evaluated in their preferred language by faculty experts.
- Orientation Programs: Host orientation sessions in both languages to familiarize students with the academic and extracurricular aspects of the college.
- Library Resources: Maintain a well-stocked library with resources in both Marathi and English, enabling students to access study material in their preferred language.
These practices create an inclusive learning environment, empowering students to excel in their academic and professional pursuits while respecting their linguistic and cultural identity. Our efforts underscore our dedication to fostering a harmonious balance between local traditions and global perspectives.
